  • Nonsuicidal Self-Injury Awareness for Nurses

Hospital presentations for nonsuicidal self-injury (NSSI) are rising, making healthcare workers essential in supporting positive health outcomes for those affected. Understanding NSSI enables effective communication, thorough assessments, and promotes recovery while safeguarding caregivers' emotional wellbeing.

This course, developed in collaboration with emergency and mental health professionals, psychologists, social workers, and those with lived experience, is taught by experts with decades of experience in NSSI and mental health nursing.

It equips nurses with knowledge of NSSI, its links to suicidal behaviour, compassionate patient responses, and self-care strategies in emergency settings. Enrolled and Registered Nurses, as well as midwives, can claim up to 4 hours of continuing professional development (CPD) under the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia's standards.
